Hi, Yvonne, Your doctor who has referred your husband to the MD center would be the person who could answer the questions. He may be asking the MD Center for specific exams. By MD Center, are you referring to the MDA Clinic or some other hospital? The MDA (Muscle Dystrophy Association) treats all type of disease plus the various forms of Myositis. They help IBM get needed equipment if needed and have well trained staff regarding Myositis. I hope the MD center you mentioned is the MDA. You've asked questions that only time will tell as every IBMer is totally different from each other, Your doctor sounds like a good advocate to write a letter that's required when filing for SSD. When I was 59.5 y/o, my SSD packet was nearly an inch thick when the application was mailed to SSA. I was granted SSD on first try because of the Neurologist's letter. Take his advice and begin the SSD application (print it from the Internet) and begin the lengthy application. Good luck. If you want great response and encouragement if you copy/past your post here to the IBM Board link (third from the top link on left of screen as there is where you will find IBM patients from all over the world. Ask questions and please don't make assumptions. You husband sounds like he is great shape with the IBM. We IBMers should be so lucky as he. Best regards,
