I had DM skin involvement only for about 15 months and thought maybe I was one of the few with skin only till within a couple of weeks I was walking with a cane and having to have help getting out of chairs.I have been on IVIG for sometime and it first cleared my skin and then started to help with the mucscle weakness.I know when it was just skin my derm gave me somethings for it and they helped some but can't remember the names.I will see if I don't have it written down somewhere and if I do get back to you.Good luck maybe you are one of the lucky ones(if anyone with DM can be lucky)with skin only.
