I wasn't dx'd for two months and by that time I also could not funtion on my own or swallow anything. I had to get a peg tube for five months. The only indication was that my liver enzymes were high in the 900 range along with extreme fatigue and dehydration. The CK was always normal. It was the muscle biopsy that gave the doctors and myself a clear answer to my DM diagnosis.
