A Quick, Brief Update..... As most of you know, health problems keep appearing and each day has it's own surprises. The water therapeutic treatments on my right leg twice a week as an outpatient has improved after six weeks, but I just watch it daily and Lucille keeps the bandage changed. But my strength and slowness gets worse daily including my inability to type. Lucille has to get me dressed and using the elec hospital and slider board to get me into the power chair where I sit until Dan the Man shows up nightly to bathe me, massage me or whatever I need .before putting me to bed. Dan has been getting up at 4:15 AM to shower, dress and get to the university in Dallas at 7:00 AM; having three tests per day until he leaves at 12:30 PM. His dad was dx with brain cancer two months ago so Dan slept on his dad's sofa (when he wasn't helping his dad) until time for him to go home, shower and dress. Dan called at 4:25 PM, saying he would be late in getting to me tonight because his dad had just died. Dan was caring for his dad, his paralyzed brother (wreck), going to school plus his work daily as funeral director and mortician......he is one great and caring man. Lucille has a terrible cold, sneezing and agony but we had an appointment with our Dallas attorney to update wills, directives, etc that the state and/or national laws have changed. She managed to keep the van between the highway strips. As we were leaving home at 7:45 AM this AM, Connie called to tell us of a tornado hitting a town 26 miles from us that we had planned to drive through, so we had to take a different route to Dallas. At 9:15 AM I called the surgeon who thought he was going to amputate my right leg he scheduled for surgery May 6, 2008.......and told the receptionist I refuse the surgery. I know my body better than anyone else. I had already "kindly and sweetly'' told the surgeon he was nuts and didn't have a clue about IBM or the Osteomyelitis of leg. Our attorney is a personal friend of 40 years and he told me I was right to give the surgeon his walking papers. Additionally, two weeks ago Kelly Miller's granddad passed away. All this week everyone is on ‘stand-by' because son-in-law's mother is in the hospital in Waco, not having a clue of what is causing her problems.. Our weather is daily tornados, thunderstorms and high wind as high as 75+ mph. Sorry for such a gloom and doom postings but that's what's doing on with us. One bit of news is that my Neurologist-friend called and asked if he and I could just roam around the country roads and lunch somewhere. I want to see his mega-bucks country home of 5,000 SF, his airstrip, plane and hanger. He was a student of Dr. Shaibani in Houston and he makes 7 flavors of fruity wine which he shares with me......so that's a bright uplift to be looking forward do. Bless you all, dear friends, and thanks to those who have begun making a monthly donation to the website maintenance and Internet - JimTX.
