I've had CT's and ultrasounds done before but I've never had a pulmonary function test or a sleep study. If nothing else, I'll be able to explain more tests to my future patients based on my own experience (which makes it easier since I don't have to quote a textbook). I think the GI doc will order an endoscopy - not looking forward to that since I just watched one in clinicals. UGH!!! It doesn't look pleasant even with sedation!I had solumedrol as a kid. I have mixed feelings about it. It DID put me into remission the first time around so that's obviously a good thing but with every infusion I'd puke. Then there are all the side effects of being on steroids that no one likes.
I don't know what I'd do without a fantastic infusion nurse. She calms me down quite a bit and I really feel like she's a patient advocate and looking out for my best interest.
Anyway, off to school for a fun day of Labor and Delivery lectures... I KNOW I don't want to be THAT kind of nurse when I grow up!!!
