I have pretty bad GERD also, it became significantly worse with the DM. The Dr. I saw at UCLA said it is a problem with DM and can be very serious. I have actually been fighting with our pharmacy insurance about Nexium for 2 months now. No other medicine will work and they do not want to pay for the nexium. Jerelee
