Every July Sunday morning, the organ and orchestra began the introduction to "Battle Hymn of the Republic" while two boy scouts in uniform crisscrossed the platform and posted the American and Christian flags, finishng just as the choir got into the choir loft and began singing the song.

Without a word spoken, the congregation arose and solemnly stood wiping tears until the song ended. Immediately, a high sprano (sp)in the choir began Kate Smith's "God Bless America" and the congregation, still standing, triumphly began singing with the soloist, organ and orchestra.

The American flags on stands totally filled behind the choir and along the side isles of the church.

To say that it was a moving experience doesn't really convey how everyone felt.

These days, only a few larger churches ever recognize God for allowing us to live in such a great country. So sad.
