Vic,

Your cpk numbers indicate muscle breakdown and an active immune system. You should be taking what the doctor prescribes and if they don't come down maybe you need an even higher dose or the addition of something else to suppress your immune system.

It is usually a mistake to come off meds or reduce dosage prematurely. I have been on meds for 4 years and am only on very low doses but my docs are reluctant to take me completely off and find out my immune system needed it to keep it under control. Eventually, we will try but not just yet....my case was extreme and I am not sure I could survive another round like the first.

Maintain your optimism and you can overcome the odds. "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it." Helen Keller
