Kathy
Welcome to the board. All of us with IBM hate the circumstances that got us here (whatever they are?) but love the people that are here to help you in any way. I'm 58 and was dx in '03. Progression is different for each of us, but the common challenge for all of us is to
NOT FALL DOWN. Try to stay ahead of the game on that one---anticipate what the next step will be and prepare for it. Since you're in a hospital setting, try to find a KNOWLEDGABLE neurologist who can explain this disease. In short, this condition does not improve, so arm yourself with knowledge.
I had to retire from our consignment clothing store business several years ago. You SHOULD begin the process of applying for Disability ASAP---it takes awhile and isn't smooth sailing for many.
Please venture your questions or vent your frustrations---some of your best help will be right here.jim in wyoming
