Carolyn,
I understand about the times of great denial. I finally achieved a dream of becoming a L&D nurse and just can't do the job after just 3 years. The last L&D shift I worked I could hardly drive home. Is it normal to be so exhausted???? When I did get home my husband had to help me get to bed, I honestly couldn't get undressed. Too tired to eat. That was when I switched to lactation. But I'm still very, very tired after working just 6 hours. There are days (most of them) when I can accept that my life has changed and I have to look for other work. I know that I can still find meaning doing something else. But now and then I rebel and think I can manage the floor and think about askiing for my L&D job back. But it's not meant to be... I'd love the name of the company your DIL works for. I live close to Austin so they may have a branch here. I'm thinking of making appt with the local MDA. Don't know what good it will do but figure it can't hurt. Take care, Kathy |
