hi there. Now I think it's a good question. My brother has leukemia and we checked to see if he needed it if I could be a marrow donor for him and the answer was, no, no one with a recognized major disorder like IBM would be a suitable donor. Now, I'm going to assume the same would apply if you wanted to donate blood or donate your organs. I stand to be corrected on this but I don't think so is the answer. another thought you could look into is contacting some IBM researchers or for example the myositis Association and ask what the procedures are for donating your body to science and if this would be helpful specifically towards myositis research.
