Lithium in treatment for IBM

I was wondering if anyone had or is trying Lithium for IBM? And if so what kind of results did you have.
For three years I was being treated with everything except the kitchen sink for Polymyositis and then as I continued to get worse and requested another biopsy...we found it to be IBM. The Docs are wanting to try this Lithium therapy on me as my condition has kind of gone into hyperdrive over the past three weeks. Multiple falls, legs getting much weaker. I do use a cane, but I have no warning before I fall. I just walk and then I find myself splattered on the floor or sidewalk etc.
