hi there. one of the the key points people keep emphasizing is that because IBM is a progressive disorder, we have to plan for the future and making extensive renovation based on your condition today is probably not wise, it's better to look ahead and prepare for the worst-case scenario. Lots of people pick scooters because they're cheaper than wheelchairs and often the people at medical supply companies push them onto customers. No one should have a three wheel scooter because they're inherently unstable. Four-wheel scooters are similar to wheelchairs with several big differences -- their seats are not usually customizable and their battery range is usually less and they're not as maneuverable. Because you may be spending hours in the chair, for example, I'm in the chair all day and cannot get up - seating is a critical issue. in a fitting they will measure you in particular, from your foot to the back of your knee, from the back of your knee to the back of your seat, the length of your arms hanging to your sides to get the armrest height. Make sure that your wheelchair has attachment points in case you need to ride in a taxi and have the chair restrained -- these are usually an option.
