Hi Annie in Placerville,

It a great choice what you say: we will do as much as we can. I choiced the same way and one of my rules was "estote parati" from your latine ancestors and from our religion. Originally it means be ready to the last step, by in my case it means be ready to front the new problems which could happen day by day. The course of IBM is long. I was diagnosed in 1995 and had the biopsy confirming IBM in 1997 and I have the power chair March 2009 after 5 years I lived volountarily prisoner on my bed. My is a German power chair with the max speed of 10 miles a hour (15 Km). Now I want let you both smile. When I was in the NEMO (NEuroMuscular Omnicentre), the first case of IBM, many ALS, distrophy....of any age, the second day they put me on a power chair and let me drive in a corridor with skittles. I starded and after some minutes the chief of the phisiotherapist asked me since many years I was driving a power chair "since half an hour" was my answer. I mean. Say your husband that whaterver be the type of the chair, I suppose with a joystik to drive, he must DRIVE WITH THE MIND and not with the hand.

Sorry if I bored you

My best regards from Italy Giancarlo ..... Call me when you want, anyway call me even if I don't speak English. May be I give you an occasion to smile.
