I am 32 years old. I have noticed some weakness over the years, even with weight training. I have also noticed that swallowing has become different, especially with thinner liquids. I seem to almost aspirate more frequently, but hadn't thought anything about it. I just assumed that I had been drinking too fast. I have read that many people with myositis start with weakness in the legs, but other reports explain that it can start in any of the proximal muscles, such as the pectorals or trunk muscles.
