Hello Kent in Clinton,

My abdominal muscle degenerated, very blessed, without pain. But whilst I am thin in all the body, for example the muscles in the legs became so thin I can see the bones, the relaxation of the abdominal let my stomach like that of a woman five months pregnant. I well know that is a serious problem, but how can we not laugh when our daughter comes home for a weekend, touches my stomach and says I don't hear the baby.?
What my neurologist and the phisiatra recommended me is to stay not motionless also when I am on my power chair (two hours here and one on the bed) I have to move or rotate the shoulders, the head, the arms often but very soft, if possible let my wife or my caregiver do that, whitout any effort by myself (Passive physiotherapy). Another advice thay gave me is to keep the arms relaxed on the armreast. It is not so easy because when I am sitting I work both with computer and my radio station (telegraphy). Anyway I make long breaks according to their sugestion.

Best wishes Giancarlo/IBM - Italy........ Call me when you want, anyway call me even if I don't speak English. May be I give you an occasion to smile.
