My doctor has treated myself and others with this disease. She stated to me when I asked her about pain, she said that it can be a painful disease and for those with IBM who have pain it is a cross between arthritis and fibrmyology (sp). She gave me painkillers and so did my physical/rehab doctor. I guess the pain is different with each of us. I get butt, back and knee pain. I hardly take the painkillers.I have seen 2 neurologist and now a Rheumotologist and they are all in agreement that IBM can be painful.
As far as stem cell I dont believe we will ever see results but I am hoping and praying our grandchildren do.
