I enjoyed a day out today with my neighbor and friend. We went to breakfast at IHOP. Easy parking & handicapped accessible. Then went shopping at Walmart. Don't usually shop there but they have a combination of what I needed. I got an eye exam there in my power chair. I wondered if they would be able to accomadate me and with a little movement of their chairs, it worked out well. Of course, I did not wear the shades after having my eyes dialated (?) and was a blind man in a power chair when I left Walmart on the way to my van. Wanted to get a haircut but decided to cut the day short and go home. Tired.
Everything works well with the PC and the van until I get into my house. Then I have to position my feet against some furniture and carefully push myself up. I'm going to install grab bars against a wall to make getting up from the PC easier for me. I got up, grabbed the walker and moved into my lift chair. Then I could relax.
Steph made a nice dinner and after catching up on the mail and reading the paper, I was able to catch a few winks.
So, overall, it's been a good day. No luck getting a consensus on the Hoyer Advance Patient Lift. Want a lift I can handle independently but that's not recommended by the pros. Can get up from my bed, commode and lift chair so I think I have some time. But we all know what the future holds.
Hey, I had a good day and I'm happy.
