Good morning
That is a positive way to look a it. I am glad you are adapting. IBM is progressive so you have to stay ahead of it. When it comes to lift that you can operate by yourself... that is only a dream. In my case I tried many different kind of sling and harnesses a few years ago and didn`t find anything suitable. Plus if you try to operate a lift by yourself... the upper body doesn`t or soon will not have the strenght to do it and if something was to go wrong you would find yourself in a very bad predicament. The idea of getting one lift to do it all is not a good one. In my bedroom I had a four post ceiling lift, another track ceiling lift in the bathroom and a portable track lift to go on the road. Sure there is a cost to it but falling or taking chances of falling is not an option. Today all that equipment is useless to me but I am glad I got it all at the time it was needed. I avoided falls (so far). Now in the nursing home all transfer are done with lift. We tend to keep doing things even if we know deep inside that it is not safe. A fall is the one thing that can really change our life in a hurry. Stay safe.
