In addition to the above post, ask if there is a Children's Cancer Parent Support Group or Network through your hospital where maybe you could get ideas from some of those brave moms who also had a child fear a port access or any type of needles. Or maybe you could access one through your caringbridge page network. I have gotten many ideas from the parents of children with cancer at the outpatient IV center we go to.
