Just another quickie, the gastro Dr thinks B has an imbalace in the bacteria in her intestinal tract that is causing the slow digestion, low motility. Not an infection, just too much of one of the normal bacterias? They treat it with antibiotics, for 1-2 months. Then they stop for 3-4 weeks, then restart with a different antibiotic. (to avoid tolerance). She said treatment can go on for years. Sometimes they try stopping the medications to see what happens, for over a month.
There was no test for this, it is just what the Dr thinks based upon her history, symptoms, and fairly normal labs. The doctor was great, but it is more medication and another specialist invited to the party. (the party of Bridget's life). We asked if it was from the JDM, JDM medications, or just a fluke. The answer is, no one knows.
