I am right there with you Vee..I was just recently diagnosed with PM at 37 years old..and my entire life just came to a skreetching halt. I was working nonstop prior to this and now I am unable to do anything from my lack of strength, weakness and all.
I had just started my own little at home pet grooming business right before this all came on...everything was on the up for me and looking great and than bam..out of nowhere this. After the ER and a 7 day hospital stay the muscle biopsy showed Polymyositis and I am now at home on rest with 60mg of Prednisone a day, however, I feel as though not one ounce of strength has returned. If anything..day by day is just harder. Venting helps, it's nice to know there are other people out there going through this that I can vent with as well. Sometimes you feel that people cannot understand what you are going through unless they were actually "inside your body" and dealing with it. I never in my life expected something like this, and still am not facing it to well. I feel like you are on the same page as me. :( |
