DeAnna,Given what others have said on this board and what my rheumatologist has recommended - it seems like this Prednisone drop is too fast. Especially since you are definately having muscle problems. And if your doctor is going to recommend this fast a drop I don't understand why he isn't starting the Methotrexate or Imuran now. Please be sure to call your doctor in the two weeks and ask him to start another medication right away. And if you are still having muscle problems ask him if you can drop the Prednisone slower. I don't know about the Imuran but my doctor is building up my Methotrexate over time so it seems like the sooner you start it the better.
How many myositis patients has your rheumy treated?
As to the "dropped foot" that appears to be a common complaint among myositis patients. I myself haven't experienced it so I can't explain it. Your might try doing a search on the board to look for previous posts.
